My Indoor Garden

Every once in a while I will see a post about indoor gardening by using the scraps from your veggies. I must admit, that I've always wanted to try to do this gardening method, seeing that I live in an apartment. Plus with this pandemic and such going on, it seemed like this would be very helpful, food-wise.
So, I read that green onions or chives are a good beginner's choice to start with indoor gardening. Now the pictures above are recent and would be the 3rd time growing green onions.
I do agree, that green onions are fairly easy to grow. Just needs a little bit of water to cover the roots and in a few days, they grow. I usually snip and let the roots regrow and the onions spring back up.
Now after accomplishing this, I thought I could try other veggies and did some more research.
I decided to challenge myself to see if I could try to grow carrots, celery, and bell peppers from scratch.

So I followed the instructions from what I read and let the celery sit in a little bit of water and sprayed water on the top and watched as it sprouted. I did the same thing with the carrots.

This is where I got cocky. I was so happy that both veggies sprouted and grew so well, that I bought pots and soil to transfer them into.

They were doing ok. I watered them and all that. Then the carrot green top dried up. Not too long after the celery tops dried up as well. I was disappointed and sad. So I thought, this is a lesson, do more research next time and maybe keep them in water longer. I am no expert at gardening, I just wanted to try something new and see if I was able to get things grown. I am content with the results, after all, I am still learning.
I will end it there.
Remember to stay positive and to stay creative.
