All You Need is a Book

All you need is a book . . . .

Written by: Vivian Badoni

You just need a book

When the world is in a riot and

The noise is too much.

Sometimes you need a book

To get away from all the jazz.

To take you to your fantasy

Of swords, dragons and spells;

Or maybe a future from this hysteria

With whizzing cars and

Far, far away planets

Not yet discovered.

To the conquistadors

Of foreign countries, while the natives defend

Their homeland against

The thunder sticks and iron hides.

When you need a pick me up,

Grab a book for that ancient wisdom from

Lost souls and our elders keen sight

Of a clear path to lead you to

a vast universe of knowledge.

Sometimes a book is all you need to just relax,

On your bed and ease your cramped mind

As your eyes droop to a close.

All you need is a book to free your mind.
